LUKE 9:23
"And He said to them all, If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, take up his cross daily, and follow Me."So, how can we carry the cross easily?
How can we enter the Kingdom of God?
Let us see what God says about this.
"Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy, and My burden is light."
We need to take His yoke upon us and learn from Him. But what does the "yoke" mean?
Have you ever seen oxen plowing a field with a yoke on their necks? Similarly, we need to take God’s yoke and learn to plow the field (live life in His guidance). But the unique aspect here is that you are not alone in carrying this yoke; God is beside you, carrying it with you. Think about it—does a loving Father want His child to struggle alone? Certainly not! That’s why He is willing to carry the yoke along with you.
When you learn to carry His yoke with ease, He helps lighten your burden. And when you are ready, you can take up the cross. Though the cross may seem heavy, it will not overwhelm you because your Father is there to support you.
Many people try to carry the cross directly without preparation, but they give up halfway through. This is why God reminds us:
LUKE 9:62
"Jesus said, No one, having put his hand to the plow and looking back, is fit for the Kingdom of God."
Many start plowing, thinking it is easy, but after a while, they look back, wondering how far they have come, and lose focus. Instead, if you first look back at your past and then at the cross, you will realize the cross is lighter than the burden of your past. With the Father beside you, helping you carry the yoke, you can confidently take up the cross and plow ahead.
Man often fails to save his soul because of his attachment to worldly desires. Even when we forget God’s goodness and mercy in our lives, He still loves us. He waits for us, like a child who weeps in secret for their loved one.
JEREMIAH 13:17
"But if you will not hear it, My soul will weep in secret for your pride."
God is waiting for you to accept the truth, to take up His yoke, and eventually carry the cross. Do not dwell on your past. His yoke is lighter, and His cross is easier to bear than the burdens of the world. It’s time to change your heart. There is no one to plow the field (spread the Gospel).
Will you now realize that His yoke is easy, and His burden is light, and that you can carry His cross?
Here, the cross symbolizes SALVATION.
If you believe God has spoken to you through this message, share it with others so they too may hear God’s voice.
